Sirius radio updating channels message

Yet, my Aspen truck, a 2007, had absolutely no issue updating channels. That's what made me not believe a word anyone had told me.I can't tell you how many signals were resent to me, how many times they deactivated my ESN from my account, and reactivated it so that I actually saw "updating channels." No dice. Here is the response, in brief, that I received from the Sirius XM Digital Care Department directly as to why our radios cannot receive the updated channels: "Our engineers have identified the cause and it appears that certain OEM, as well as some portable radios, are referred to as "channel limited".S60RPackages: Premium, Climate Options: Sport Appearance Package, 18" Pegs, 6Spd Geartronic, Navigation Accessories: Sunglasses holder, Sirius Radio, Volvo Digital Jukebox Mods: SS DEM Mod "Just say no to LV VIN codes"So did the dealership even look into a software update for the radio module?everything in a Volvo is driven by software and I can't believe they would design a radio that couldn't get an updated channel lineup. Said no update is possible due to the fact it's a generation 1 Sirius radio. Not a major life-changing problem, but nonetheless, frustrating and irritating my last nerve. I'm tired of talking to non-English speaking techs, where I know more about computers than they do. They read a script and don't understand that those channels do not appear, although the other changes took effect. BTW, I'm upset they stopped channel 75, the classical POPS, one of 3 channels I actually listen to. Right now, I'm ok with the lack of 55 & 57, but if it gets worse whereby I'm losing channels in the near future, I will stream in from my iphone. The changes worked on my truck, but refuse to take effect in the car. Can anyone who has factory installed Sirius, please check to see if 55 and 57 were added. I do see the change in name on Channel 3 to Venus; they added Channel 128 (Joel Osteen coming in Fall), and that worked for me, change around a few country stations (56 became 59 and vise versa), dropped Channel 75 Classical Pops which I am upset about. I told them to disassociate my ESN with my account and start over. They could do away with alot of channels dedicated to one singer or a band that no one cares about in thirty years! I have an open ticket with their Product Support team and I've also posted on their Facebook page, which BTW I despise FB, but I did get the attention of a manager on the Sirius XM Digital Care Team who called me and he is still seeing what can be done for older Sirius radios. I listen to Studio 54; my husband - gross Howard Stern in his Aspen.

After searching their website I realized they'd dropped it, sure enough it was gone in my S60 (built in Sirius XM) too.I did see "updating" this morning for the first time with the tech, but no dice for me... If Sirius wasn't built in, I'd probably use my i Phone and stream. I'm tired of talking to non-English speaking techs, where I know more about computers than they do. I added a Sirius radio to my C70 on July 18th but after finishing the installation I couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting #75 (Pops). After days of frustration, they said the Sirius unit in the 2008 c70 is not capable of accepting new added channels because it's a first generation unit. I want to know if anyone in MY 08 has successfully added 55 and 57. I told them to disassociate my ESN with my account and start over. After searching their website I realized they'd dropped it, sure enough it was gone in my S60 (built in Sirius XM) too.According to my service dept., I was told all they could do is give me the same module I have now, which wouldn't accomplish a thing.I'm told, no upgrade of the radio is possible, at least not from Volvo.

You can get #75 but it's only on their Internet Radio subscription which I have. #75 was dropped on July 17th and was my #1 channel, and I complained about it on their Facebook page, and I called them. Believe it or not, I got a free month added to my subscription! ) UPDATE: So, their digital manager called me back earlier today, and so I'm out of luck as far as ever adding 55 and 57.
